Breaded buffalo cauliflower is a perfect appetizer for a Sunday football game or when entertaining a group. I served these with giardiniera on top, but if you’re not plant-based, these would be great with blue cheese or ranch dressing.
1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets, steamed
1.5 cups of your favorite buffalo hot sauce
Breading:
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of sparkling water
Sunflower oil
Directions:
Cut cauliflower in florets and steam for about 7 minutes until slightly soft. You don’t want them to get too soft, so they won’t need to be steamed long.
Place cauliflower into a bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over the top and let sit for about 30-40 minutes
Meanwhile, mix flour, baking soda and salt.
Pour 1 cup of sparkling water to into the flour mixture. Mix to combine.
Once the cauliflower is ready, dip/roll in the breading mixture. Do this one floret at a time
Heat oil in skillet. Once warm, place several florets in the pan. Cook for a few minutes each side. Make sure that the bottom is golden brown before flipping.
Repeat until you have the desired amount.
Enjoy!
